Kay is unusual, in probably the best ways. Ritsu still doesn't understand the logic or reasoning behind her actions (such as stealing away apologies/sins), mostly because it's beyond his understanding for someone to care so deeply for him. As such, there is deep respect and admiration for her, and he wishes he could be as confident as her. But there is also a fear - even though he now knows the curse is not here, he has been raised to be wary of the touch of a girl. With that in mind, he does also try to make sure there is always distance  - physically and emotionally - between them. He does like her, and if he could, he would try to aide her, if asked.

The most adorable cousin! Because of their traumatic mutual experiences, Ritsu completely understands why Kisa doesn't speak and would never force her to try. He's deeply afraid for her, since she's in his care, which (as his low self esteem says) will no doubt put her in miserable trouble. But he is grateful to have her here, someone who understands him like no one else can. He's always going to do his best to boost her self-confidence and ensure her happiness, as she deserves. However, she's gaining courage in places he didn't expect, and is starting to make him question the family and their curse. Will the Tiger and the Monkey reveal themselves, because of her new found love and bravery?
